		<description>Credit Unions are federally insured just like banks if they carry the NCUA logo.  The NCUA (National Credit Union Administration) is basically the twin to the FDIC.  They oversee and insure credit unions.  You can verify that a credit union is federally insured by visiting www.ncua.gov.  The follow the same insurance guidelines as the FDIC.

Where as the FDIC has closed 38 banks so far this year, I think their has only been one or two credit unions.</description>
